The HP Officejet 4622 e-All-in-One is not a \”normal\” model, but should have got its product name especially for the discount sale. A press release or even reviews for this printer can be found none. But not only the photos suggest that the Officejet 4620 printer, which has been on the market for over a year, is identical. There will probably be very few differences in software delivery, for example. This was confirmed by the press office of HP from experience, but unfortunately could not provide accurate information. As I have now confirmed, the only difference between the HP Officejet 4622 and the HP Officejet 4620 is that the HP Officejet 4622 does not come with a USB cable.

However, one thing is clear when looking at the Officejet 4620 series: Occasionally the printer has difficulties with the paper feed. For example, the customer rating on Amazon is differentiated accordingly. After all, nine out of 47 reviews are clearly negative because of the paper feed, while 24 awarded the full score and praise the ease of installation. The very different rating makes it possible to conclude higher tolerances in the production of paper feed. In any case, on the positive side, the HP Officejet 4622 printer can work with four individually exchangeable ink cartridges which is not self-evident in this price range. So you do not have to swap all colors because of a single empty ink chamber, but can specifically exchange the tanks individually.

Optionally, the printer even accepts the XL cartridges  with more tank contents, which can be significantly cheaper to print. The set of normal sized cartridges is currently priced at just under $ 30 on HP\’s website. With XL inks, you can get a quit price of just under € 70, but the yield increases from about 250 – 300 to 750 pages. The ink price per normal page thus drops from about 12 cents to 9 cents. You can either connect the printer via USB 2.0 to the computer or integrate it via WLAN in the network. Then you can also print from mobile devices, because HP offers apps that can be used to make the printer even on the go for document printing.

For copying, scanning and faxing, the printer has a 35-page document feeder. The HP Officejet 4622 e-All-in-One printer, which is on sale from Aldi on 14th March is priced very well at € 100 and was never cheaper. Although occasionally lure traders with cheaper prices, but then you add the shipping costs, you end up at best in a tie. The same applies to the sister model HP Officejet 4620. If you buy the printer from Aldi, you should not let too much time pass before installation and a more extensive test: If the paper feeder is difficult due to manufacturing tolerances, this can usually be determined quickly.
