MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ Gaming Mouse Driver Download. Many years ago, on the recommendation of a friend, I bought the previous model RAT 7 and was completely satisfied with this over several years of intensive use until at some point the left mouse button gave up and I finally wrecked the mouse after a failed attempt to repair it myself. Since the manufacturer Mad Catz was insolvent at the time, I had to switch to another gaming mouse (Logitech G502) due to a lack of supplies, which I never really got warm with for various reasons. When I saw that Mad Catz were back on the market and that the RAT mice were available again as affordable (if not exactly cheap) new goods, I ordered the successor model RAT 8+ without hesitation.

MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ has a plus point for me is the size of the mouse, which is well in my miner\’s claws (glove size 9.5) and therefore I don\’t have the feeling of holding a children\’s toy in my hand (as with many competing products). Conversely, this naturally means that someone with small or dainty hands could find this device \”too big\” or \”too bulky\” and should therefore look for a smaller model.
Another particularly important plus point of the RAT 8+ (the other RAT models don\’t seem to have this feature) is the adjustable thumb rest with the two additional buttons (4 + 5). On the one hand, the angle between the thumb rest and the mouse body can be adjusted using a screw. On the other hand, there is a screw thread on the underside of the mouse with which the thumb rest can be adjusted forwards or backwards by approx.
The 7mm so that the additional buttons can be easily reached with the thumb. (In many competing products, the additional keys are too far back for me, so that I can only get to the back key with extreme thumb acrobatics – I don\’t have that problem with the RAT 8)
The scope of delivery also includes three different pads for the ball of the hand and the little finger, one of which is rubberized. The MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ palm rests come in two different heights and they can be moved a few millimeters forwards or backwards on the rail on the mouse body. There are also three additional weights with 6 grams each, but I don\’t use them because the mouse already weighs 144 grams without the additional weights.
MadCatz RAT 6+ Drivers
Overall, this MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ mouse is very solidly made and the buttons and the mouse wheel have a good feel and the optical sensor works perfectly. Even if I cannot offer any long-term experience with this mouse at the moment, the robustness of the previous model convinced me and the processing quality of the RAT 8+ seems (at least as far as I can judge it from the outside) to be at least equal to that of the previous model. The MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ mouse is of course not exactly cheap, but the many setting options and the (hoped for) robustness justify the price in my eyes.
I can\’t say anything about the MadCatz R.A.T. 6+ software, which is criticized by some reviewers, because I don\’t use it. The standard drivers that Windows 10 installs for this mouse are completely sufficient for me in both desktop and gaming mode, even if the thumb wheel has no function as a result. Oh yes, that thing also lights up, of course, but without additional software it is limited to a rainbow color change.
