WORKMANSHIP & QUALITY
The Razer Cynosa Lite is made entirely of plastic, but still makes a high-quality and stable impression. The slightly roughened housing cannot be bent even with the use of force. With a weight of around 900 grams and the four small rubber mats, the gaming keyboard also has a good grip on the desk and does not slip while typing.
The two legs are unfortunately not rubberized, which reduces the hold on the desk when they are used. Furthermore, the connection cable is not sleeved. After all, according to the manufacturer, the keyboard is at least protected from splash water.
FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
In terms of functionality, the Razer Cynosa Lite scored points in the test. The keyboard has a 10 key rollover, which should be more than sufficient for gaming in most situations. However, you will look in vain for dedicated macro keys or multimedia elements with this model. Instead, the individual keys can be assigned shortcuts and macros using the Razer Synapse software.
In addition, the keys F1 to F12 have already been assigned useful shortcuts at the factory, which can be activated using the FN key. Thus, for example, music tracks can be fast forward and rewind or the gaming mode can be activated, which deactivates the Windows key.
Thanks to the “On The Fly” macro recording, you can quickly and easily assign your own macros to individual keys during the game. This function is extremely useful when you are in the middle of the action and therefore cannot use the software.
The rubber dome keys were able to convince in the test with a quiet and pleasant typing experience. The keyboard is well suited for gaming. Even longer gaming sessions could be managed with the keyboard in the test without any problems. We did not experience any signs of fatigue while playing with the Razer Cynosa Lite.
Razer Cynosa Lite SOFTWARE – THE RAZER SYNAPSE GAMING SOFTWARE
Using the Razer Synapse software, the Cynosa Lite can be easily and quickly adapted to your own needs and preferences. The program can be used, for example, to change the lighting and the assignment of the buttons. There are almost no limits to your own imagination, especially when it comes to key assignment. Among other things, the individual keys can be assigned mouse functions, multi-time options, and the creation of different profiles is effortless.
Razer Synapse Gaming Software
The Razer Cynosa Lite makes the biggest mistake when it comes to lighting. The RGB lighting may sound nice on the data sheet, but in reality it has some weaknesses. The entire RGB color spectrum is available for the keyboard lighting, but the colors don’t really come into their own due to the weak and uneven illumination of the individual keys. If you value bold colors and an evenly lit keyboard, the Razer Cynosa Lite is probably the wrong choice for you.
Typically for rubber dome keyboards in this price range, the colors of the individual keys cannot be adjusted, only the lighting of all keys at the same time, there are no individual zones. Using the Razer Synapse Gaming Software, you can at least select some ready-made lighting effects or create your own. For this, however, it is necessary that the software is active in the background.
The Razer Cynosa Lite offers good workmanship, paired with a quiet keystroke and a pleasant feeling of pressure on the keys. Using the Razer Synapse software, the keyboard can also be adapted to your own needs quite extensively. However, compromises have to be made in the area of the lighting, since this model is clearly too weak and has turned out unevenly.
So if you are looking for good RGB lighting, you should look around for another model. But if you place less emphasis on the lighting and are more interested in an easily and extensively configurable gaming keyboard that does not cost too much, then the Razer Cynosa Lite is definitely worth considering.
