Logitech G600 Software Download. A mouse used to be dull. The little brother of the keyboard. My first mouse belonged to a Commodore Amiga. If I’m not mistaken, the thing had two buttons and was quite bulky. In the meantime, the mice have evolved: From a mere tool to a work of art. But the mice have not only evolved in terms of design: the little rodents can also do a lot more.

Especially with MMO games, the functions of modern mice are essential for the gaming experience. I’ve tested and tortured quite a few of these “human interface” devices, ending up with a Logitech G600.
With its 20 buttons, I can customize the Logitech G600 exactly how I need it for a particular MMO. League of Legends has very different requirements than a round of WoW. And there are also differences within WoW. A relaxed round of solo quests with my villain is very different than the raid evening with my hunter or the battleground with the dwarf priestess.
The buttons are divided into three main buttons, twelve thumb buttons and a clickable scroll wheel. You can also tilt it to the side. In addition, changing profiles and DPI values is possible without any problems. In addition, no driver is required under Windows! I have no idea how it is with Linux or Apple.
The gaming mouse in the MMO Review
So many buttons and functions are perfect for gaming. For some games, the mouse is already perfectly adjusted when you take it out of the box.
- Pleasing: Despite intensive use, there are no major signs of wear and tear, which unfortunately does not apply to every MMO mouse that I’ve had my hands on.
With 8200 DPI, the mouse is a bit oversized – I don’t push it to the limit – but it doesn’t hurt either. For those who are new to 8200 DPI, the mouse will seem hypersensitive, but thanks to the settings in the profiles, you will soon appreciate this accuracy! In addition to MMORPGs, a few rounds in Defiance, breakneck maneuvers in League of Legends or headshot sessions in Planetside 2 are also possible.
Most G-keys are easy to reach with the thumb. A sign that the designers have put a lot of effort into earning their living in the right job. I have functionally stored the G-keys with the Logitech gaming software and now use the mouse together with a Logitech gaming keyboard (G510S) – a satisfactory combination for me. The keys can also be used when working with Office if they are set intelligently.
- Especially for online role-playing games like World of Warcraft, Aion or Star Wars: The Old Republic, these additional keys are extremely useful for accessing the numerous skills quickly and easily. A huge advantage! But not only skills can be ignited so quickly, but also emotes, buffs or food.
Instead of just jumping on the slain enemies in the BG’s like a beginner, you can use the Logitech G600 to perform an elaborate victory dance consisting of a series of emotes!
The hand size thing
In my opinion, the only weak point of the Logitech G600 is its size. Players and especially female players with small hands will have difficulties handling the somewhat large G600 (the mouse must have eaten too much cheese). I find myself stretching my thumbs a little every now and then—you’d have to have pianist’s fingers (or bigger hands than mine) to be in the front row.
- Maybe 3 rows on the left would have been enough, especially since you have the special G-Shift key on the right side, which allows additional assignments (as the saying goes: less is sometimes more). On the other hand, I then simply assigned the keys so that I mainly use those that are easiest for me to reach.
However, the “Swiss army knife” among MMO mice offers such a wide range of functions that the device cannot be a micro mouse. It’s clear. In terms of handling, however, I see small advantages with the Razer Naga or the RAT mice.
Conclusion Logitech G600
The Logitech G600 is an excellent mouse for MMO games. Even after long and intensive use, it acts precisely. The keys have good resistance. Those who like it will enjoy the different lighting modes – everyone else can also deactivate this option.
A little tip: You will need a little getting used to at first, most likely more than with conventional mice. This can be a little frustrating, but after a while you’ll appreciate the many features if you use them.

The test shows early on: the accuracy of the G600 is beyond any doubt. Even in fast first-person shooters like Battlefield 3 or third-person action games like Max Payne 3, the MMO mouse always precisely implements all of our inputs. Incorrect entries None!
Competitors like the Roccat Kone+ or the Steelseries Sensei are in no way inferior to Logitech’s new rodent, but despite the nominally significantly higher sampling rate, it doesn’t bring any noticeable advantages. The G600 also works reliably on almost all surfaces. Only glass mouse pads cause her problems like so many other mice.

You can set the USB frequency in four steps from 125 to 1,000 Hz. The higher the polling rate, the smoother the pointer moves, but some older systems can become unstable with such a high polling rate. Macs also often have problems with USB frequencies above 500 Hz. However, the differences between the individual settings are noticeable, but not obvious. Nevertheless, we prefer to play at 1,000 Hz in the test.
Logitech G600 Mouse Technology
Compared to the Logitech G500, Logitech has increased the sampling rate from 5,700 dpi to 8,200 dpi on the G600. This can be set completely freely in the driver, which is only available via download, in 50 dpi steps. The same applies to the five dpi levels, between which we can switch at any time by pressing a button.
We are also allowed to set the dpi levels differently for each profile. We save the settings directly in the internal memory of the mouse, so that we can also play on other computers as usual. A maximum of three profiles can be stored in the G600 itself, more on the hard drive.
For example, we configure the sensor to always work with the full 8,200 dpi, but switch it down to a lower sampling rate of 800 dpi, for example, at the push of a button. This helps to pick exactly the right one from a large mob group that we want to target at the moment. And which mouse do you use for gaming? Or do you have any other recommendations? Feedback wanted!
