Logitech G410 Software Download. What Logitech described as the world’s fastest keyboard was launched with a bang a year ago. The keyboard was both huge and somewhat strange, but certainly had its exciting sides as well. Now there is a sequel, or maybe we should write a smaller version of this keyboard. The newcomer has been named the G410 Atlas Spectrum.

The Logitech G410 Atlas Spectrum has clear similarities with its big brother, but has had the macro buttons peeled away, a row of extra keys on top of the keyboard and the entire numeric part.

The keyboard naturally uses the same Romer G keys that were brand new in the G910, but we do not feel that they are as big a novelty anymore. If you have forgotten, or have not realized what the thing with these switches is, we will take a quick update.

These are some brand new mechanical keys, and come in as a breath of fresh air in a market that is dominated by something so fierce by German Cherry MX. The big advantage of Romer G, according to Logitech, should be the hike. This is 1.5 millimeters, while the competition is 2.0 millimeters.

If two players react at exactly the same time, and press their keys down at exactly the same speed, then the Romer G keys will be hit just before the other keys. In other words, this can mean life or death on the battlefield, at least in theory.

Logitech has calculated a bit on that, and with an estimated finger speed of 30 centimeters per second, with Romer G you will spend 5.0 milliseconds on strokes, 6.7 milliseconds with standard mechanical keys and 9.0 milliseconds when using classic rubber domes.

A relatively special design

At the time, we sat for a long time looking at the G910, a little unsure of what we should actually write about the design. It has not changed, and here the undersigned sits again and wonders what made someone at Logitech think that this was a scam.

Here it is rugged and shiny plastic in beautiful combination, with some strange profiles both here and there, as well as keys with a strange pattern.

I will not cling to my taste in everyone, but this will be a bit in excess. At the same time, there are probably some who love this design, and if you combine it with a fresh cabinet and a matching mouse, it will at least be implemented.

To my great delight, Logitech has moved away from the square recess we saw on the G910’s keys. This concept was mentioned by Logitech for Performance Facet key caps, and they are even said to have applied for a patent for the design. The point should be that the fingers stay in the middle of the keys, for better pressing. Now things are rounded off and have a certain indentation in the middle, reasonably normal and absolutely perfect.

Own software for full control

The G410 Atlas Spectrum also offers full color control of the backlight on the keys, just as it was on the G910. You make the necessary settings via a separate software that is downloaded from Logitech’s websites.

This software package allows you to control the color behind each key individually, or you can make the keyboard pulsate in various colors if you prefer. It is also possible to set up a series of own macro commands, and different game profiles.

Logitech does not stop there, you also have the option to connect to your smartphone or tablet. With one application, you can get a number of key data about your computer, whether it is about details from the game itself, whether you want to control other gaming devices from Logitech or whether you want to see how much free memory you have. This application is available for Android and iOS, and is naturally free.

Gives you good control on the battlefield

So over to the most important thing, namely how the keyboard behaves during gaming. It is with a certain excitement that we fire up Battlefield 4 as the first game, although we have a certain expectation that it will be reasonably similar to the last. There is full control on the battlefield, although there are also a few small things to put your fingers on.

It feels like the depression is a bit heavier than the Cherry MX Red, at the same time you have more of the tactile feedback that you get from the MX Brown. This means that the pressure gradually becomes harder before the resistance disappears just before the impact.

It’s a little different what people like, the undersigned, for example, is very fond of an even impression. In addition, it feels like there is a bit of slack in the lateral directions of the depression. The prints are registered, but there is just a slightly different feeling at the very beginning of the print.

Then it’s a little worse with the keys themselves. Compared to the Cherry MX, these feel more like a rubber membrane, and it is not necessarily positive. In a way, there is an extra frictional resistance in the depression, just as the keys do not slide as easily as on the Cherry MX. Now the weight of the depression is not different, but it feels like there is something extra there.

The slightly shorter walk is noticeable, at least it feels that way, and it’s a bit strange to use the keyboard in that way in the beginning. After a while, this is also something we get used to quite quickly.

We also tried a little Grand Theft Auto V, and here we felt we had full control. Even with rear-wheel drive and too much engine power, it was easy to steer through the corners. If someone were to give me a firearm, it was not a big challenge for the G410 either.

The missing numeric keypad creates some problems when flying, but here it is possible to change the layout. As a fun detail, we can add that the function keys flash red and blue, just like on police cars, when you are wanted.

Conclusion: Is probably most for those who are particularly interested. The Logitech G410 Atlas Spectrum is without a doubt a great product, but it’s going to disappear dangerously fast from the undersigned’s desk as soon as this test is complete.

The size of the keyboard makes it relevant for those with little space, whether it is at home or they are often on LAN mounts. The basic functionality is in place, but if you are a big user of the numeric bit, you will probably feel that the keyboard does not measure up.

Roman G-switches require a bit of getting used to, they are reminiscent of the Cherry MX Brown, with tactile feedback and relatively light depression. At times, they also remind us a bit of ordinary diaphragm switches, perhaps most in the cases where we hit the keys slightly obliquely.

The G410 undoubtedly has a distinctive design. Some people probably think it’s nice, while others still prefer not to have something like that on the desk. One thing Logitech should have, they dare to stand out.

The software gives you plenty of options, such as setting up your own profiles, with associated macro keys and full control of the lighting. We like how you can have a series of different profiles, and lights that really show which profile you have activated.

The possibility of using a smartphone or tablet in two teams with the keyboard is nice, but not a must in our view. At least you get a good overview of the use of resources on your computer, but in games the usefulness is somewhat limited if you do not find something specially adapted. In addition, it is not always beneficial to look down at the keyboard in the middle of the battlefield to see how your health is.
